A disclaimer: I am not always willing to lose myself within a noisy crowd when I eat. I enjoy the flavor of food, I can go to places alone or in company, but food is never an excuse for something else for me. So, I have been at Steingarten several times but always with small crowds. What I enjoy is not only the food, which is the real reason why I kept going back, but also the nice atmosphere, particularly if you are lucky enough to get a spot in the very small patio in the back. There is excellent food, a good selection of beers, and a germanic aura to the whole place, even if you know well that you are not in Deutschland. Thumbs up! |

A great place to go when you are in the mood for a beer and some German food. The food is prepared with an American attitude, which makes it tasty and filling. The chicken schnitzel sandwich is amazingly good. It comes with sauerkraut (nicely homemade) and cheese on a pretzel bun and is the type of thing you cannot stop eating. You get your choice of side dish with it (I always get the onion rings, as they are as good as the sandwich). The sausages o the menu are fun to choose from and the beer menu is quite long. |
